Hudson Manhattan Rye Whiskey
HUDSON WHISKEYS are hand made from the original grain; ground, cooked, fermented and distilled, aged and bottled at TUTHILLTOWN SPIRITS distillery in the Hudson Valley. Most our grains are New York agricultural products. Many are grown specifically for the distillery by local farms. Malted barley comes from Canada. Our Molasses is from Louisiana. The crew of five operates two German pot stills 100 gal. and 200 gal., equipped with optional columns and a vapor chamber for herbal infusions. Our whiskeys age in new charred American White oak barrels ranging in size from 3 – 54 gallons; made for us in Kentucky, Arkansas and Minnesota and charred at the cooperage. A “batch” starts as 700 lbs of grain and 400 gallons of well water and yields about 40 gallons of final product. Our mash is kept intact through to the end of the first distillation, imparting a full grain flavor that sets us apart.
