Each month we feature a woman in the wine world, be it a winemaker, an importer, or a winery owner.
We are proud to present the wines of Sokol Blosser. The first Sokol Blossom vines were planted in 1971, with a 5 acres parcel of Pinot Noir. Although research showed that cool-climate European wine grapes would grow in the Willamette Valley, it was a huge leap of faith since there was virtually no wine industry in this area. Using donated labor from family and friends and beat-up equipment from fellow farmers, the Sokol Blossers cleared the land and planted the first vineyard. Today the winery is renowned around the world with Susan Sokol Blosser as the President. The Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir, Evolution and Meditrina are proudly featured in our wine shop.
